A reading, coming from a sensor connected to an analog input signal is missing. What can I do?

Alert
This article assumes that there is an already correct cellular/internet connection. If there is no valid cloud connection, please consult this article.
If a correct current signal is applied to the input, it should result in a value displayed on its corresponding dial on the Aircloud webserver. However, If this does not appear to be the case, there are a few analyses that can be carried out to determine the root cause of the issue. A troubleshooting list is described below.
  1. Verify the connection of the sensor.
    1. Make sure that the connector socket is properly placed into the corresponding terminal.
    2. Check if the sensor is connected to the correct analog input.
    3. Verify the integrity of the wiring of the sensor. The sensor has to be set-up for 4-20mA signal.
      1. Re-check the connectivity drawings of the sensor itself, either in third party documentation, or via the Aimatics installation guides.
      2. Make sure that it is absolutely clear how the sensor has to be wired, and that it corresponds with the set-up in reality.
  2. Check the integrity of the sensor itself
    1. Using a multimeter, measure the current coming from the sensor to the dedicated incoming current pin (e.g. IIN# for an Airtag)
      1. For a milliamp sensor:
        1. Check DC current flow in any one of the two sensor wires (e.g. 4.0mA @ 0.0bar)

      2. For a voltage sensor:
        1. Check DC voltage power supply to the sensor (+) and (-); 24VDC +/-20%
        2. Check DC voltage output signal from the sensor (dependent on sensor type)
      3. For a temperature sensor:
        1. Check DC resistance of the sensor; 1000 ohms @ 0°C (32°F) to 1365 ohms @ 100°C (212°F)
    2. If possible, place an identical sensor that is verified to be working, or a new sensor, and check whether the measurements are now correct.
      1. If the measurements are correct after replacing the sensor, we now know that the sensor was the cause of the issue.
  3. Check the integrity of the Analog inputs of the -Tag
    1. Install a resistor across the pins of the analog input
      1. For example: +V-AI and IIN# on X11 and X12 of the Airtag
      2. The resistor should be between 1200 and 6000 Ohms (Preferably 2000 Ohms, 0,5W)
    2. When the resistor is installed it should display a certain value on the corresponding dial on the Aircloud webserver, which correlates to the size of the resistor.
      1. If there is no measurement after installing a resistor, the issue might be related to a faulty analog input.
      2. If there is now a correct measurement being displayed, the issue is related to the connected sensor.
    3. Connect a different sensor that is certain to be valid to the analog input.
      1. If there is no measurement after installing the valid sensor, the issue might be related to a faulty analog input.
      2. If there is now a correct measurement, the issue is related to the original connected sensor.
  4. Check if the sensor is enabled on the -Tag
If everything else from above is verified and seems to work fine, check whether the sensor has been enabled on Aircloud.
Therefore you will need to go to the -Tag itself on Aircloud and edit the configuration on Aircloud. You will need to go to the sensor you are working on and see if the sensor is 'Enabled' or 'Disabled".
If the sensor is 'Disabled', the webpage on Aircloud can give the following text on Aircloud.

If the sensor is 'Enabled' and you have concluded that the sensor is working, then you should be able to see a value on Aircloud.

Notes
Give the Aircloud web server enough time to update, when verifying measurements by looking at the Aircloud dashboard. 10 minutes should be sufficient.
If the above information has not helped you in resolving your issue, feel free to create a ticket and share with us the following information:
  1. A picture of the sticker attached the the -Tag.
    1. The serial number of the -Tag has to be readable.
  2. A picture of the sensor head to display the wiring.
  3. A picture of the sensor wires connected to the input of the -Tag.
  4. A picture displaying how the current measurement with the multimeter is performed.
    1. A picture displaying the read out value on the display of this multimeter.
  5. A picture of the resistor connected to the analog input.
    1. The size of this resistor
  6. Any documentation on how the current wires are connected. (e.g. a wiring diagram)
  7. The manual of the used sensor (if purchased from a party different than ourself)
